Disclosures for C&P

Please read through the following disclosures for having your books cleaned and pressed and/or submitted to CGC for grading. If you have any questions please Contact Us before proceeding.

• Payment is due to stevescomiccleanandpress@gmail.com via Paypal after cleaning pressing is completed

• Books are not shipped back to customer or to grading service until full payment is received.

• If payment is not received within seven (7) days of books being completed then a $10 per week charge will be incurred for storage of the books. Our room in the safe is limited, and we need completed books to be shipped as soon as possible.

• If an order is still in our possession after thirty (30) days since completion, then the owner forfeits a minimum of one (1) book of value owed for cleaning and pressing and shipping.  All other books will be shipped to the owner. The owner will receive the forfeited book upon payment. If no payment is made after sixty (60) days since completion the forfeited book(s) will be sold to compensate us for the services we provided.

• Shipping fees to send to grading company or return to home address will be calculated based on each order with additional fees to cover PayPal fees and/or shipping materials. 

  • NOTE: We will typically mail to CGC or to the customer using the same materials unless we believe the packing needs to be improved or modified to ensure safe delivery.

• While a rough estimate of grade may be requested, we are not professional graders and may only be able to provide a limited range. There are no guarantees on grading estimates.

• Dry cleaning and pressing will improve - dirty areas; bends, light creases, minor spine roll, ripples, waviness, light cover impressions and spine tics that do NOT break color

• Our dry cleaning and pressing process will not improve - color breaks from bending, creases, or spine tics, stains to the book, foxing, rusted or loose staples, tears or holes.

• To address some defects we use minimal amounts of moisture through steam and/or use of a humidity chamber. You may request this not to be used.

• We typically do not do before or after pictures of books, but if you request for a book or two to be shared we can do that.

• We do NOT detect for restoration, missing pages or pieces, or make determination on conservation practices.

The following are disclosures specifically for submitting to CGC:

• If submitting to CGC under Steve's account you will not be able to track the order. You may request an update from time to time; however, if there are a large number of orders active we may not be able to find it until seated at a computer.

• If submitting to CGC under the books' owner's account the packing slip should be included with the books.

• Non-payment for work to be done will result in books being sent to the customer and not to CGC.

The following are disclosures specifically for submitting to CGC Signature Series:

• If we mark that we have received the book then the book must go to CGC. We default that all books will be graded if the book is not signed as requested due to cancellation of the event, cancellation of the guest, or other unexpected reasons.

• We will request payment upfront for signatures from celebrities and creators. Some events do NOT post prices in advance. We will bill you for an estimated price. If the cost is lower, we will reimburse you. If the price is higher, we will bill you the remaining balance before sending to CGC.

• We add a minimum of $5.00 to each signature fee in order to cover PayPal fees (otherwise we pay for the signatures when the fees come out).
